Summary execution of the young student Youssef Samih Istiyeh, 15, in Nablus

On April 23, 2026, around 07:10, Israeli forces stormed the city of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank. During the raid, confrontations erupted with residents while several homes were being searched. The forces used live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas against civilians, under the claim that stones had been thrown at them. The raid specifically targeted the Rafidia neighborhood, with additional live fire reported in the Beit Wazan area to the west of the city during the withdrawal phase.

As a result of the gunfire, a child was killed in Nablus. Yousef Sameh Shtayyeh (also referred to as Youssef Samih Istiyeh) was critically wounded in the shoulder in the Beit Wazan area. He was transported to hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Local sources reported that the young man's injury occurred during the withdrawal of the occupation forces from the area, that the soldiers opened fire directly at the teeanger. Medical sources announced the death of a child (15 years old) later in the day.
