Summary execution of Mohammad Nazem Zayed

24 June, 2026
West Bank, Jenin, Al-Yamun
At least 1 martyred

On June 24, 2026, the Palestinian man Muhammad Nazim Izzat Zayed was killed by Israeli occupation forces in the town of Al-Yamoun, west of Jenin, after undercover Israeli special forces ("Musta'ribeen") infiltrated the area and besieged a house where he was present.

Zayed had been pursued by Israeli forces for several months despite suffering from cancer. Witnesses said the special forces surrounded the house at around 12:30 p.m. Zayed attempted to flee, but soldiers shot him at close range in the courtyard. Eyewitness Sanad Abu Tall told Agence France-Presse that the forces could have arrested him instead.

Ambulance crews from the Palestinian Red Crescent were dispatched after receiving reports of the raid at approximately 1:00 p.m., but Israeli forces prevented them from reaching the wounded man to provide first aid, according to ambulance officer Murad Khamaysa.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health later announced that Zayed had died from his wounds. Israeli forces subsequently withheld his body.

Footage from the scene showed the aftermath of the operation, during which Israeli forces surrounded the house, shot Zayed, and detained his body.
