"Israeli journalists accompany the Israeli occupation army during the raid on Al-Bireh city in the occupied West Bank. #Israel" - Source
On December 1, Israeli forces raided the Union of Agricultural Work Committees in Al-Bireh. Palestinian journalists were prevented from covering the event, while Israeli journalists were embedded with the forces and broadcast the abuses and the arrests of members of the association.
**Al Haq statement: **
the Israeli Forces raided & sealed the headquarters of the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) in Al-Bireh/Ramallah, as well as its office in Hebron. Several staff members were arrested, and office equipment was confiscated. The IDF left a military order prohibiting the organisation’s work & engagement with its activities. This attack is part of Israel's systematic dismantling of Palestinian organisations working on human rights, the rule of law, and supporting communities steadfastness! We call on the international community, including human rights defenders, & institutions, to condemn this assault & demand the release of all detained UAWC staff members
Pingo statement:
"The Palestinian NGOs Network (PNGO) strongly condemned Israeli occupation forces for raiding the offices of the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) in Al-Bireh and occupied Hebron: accompanied by a media crew and marked by theft and destruction, calling the operation an act of occupation piracy against Palestinian civil society. PNGO stressed that the attack is part of a systematic Israeli campaign to cripple Palestinian humanitarian and development institutions and undermine community resilience and food security. The raid took place in areas officially designated as PA-controlled, highlighting ongoing Israeli violations of international law and humanitarian protections. During the Gaza genocide, dozens of NGOs were destroyed and over 500 humanitarian workers were killed, reflecting the same pattern of targeting civilian relief efforts. PNGO urged the United Nations, diplomatic missions, donor states, and the International Criminal Court to take immediate action to protect Palestinian institutions, investigate Israeli crimes, ensure accountability, and strengthen international support for civil society organizations serving Palestinians under occupation"
Israeli hasbara:
"Judea and Samaria / West Bank
Israeli forces advanced today on the offices of the Palestinian Agricultural Councils’ Front in Al-Bireh as new scrutiny falls on the Union of Agricultural Committees (UAWC), an organization outlawed by former Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz in 2021 for its ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist org.
Despite the ban and previous IDF raids that sealed its Ramallah headquarters, UAWC continues to operate openly across the West Bank, running harvest campaigns, coordinating with local municipalities, and mobilizing activists. Israeli authorities recently expelled 32 foreign participants involved in the group’s “Al-Awna Samoud” harvest initiative, but its arab staff, including CEO Fuad Abu Seif and regional coordinators, remain active and visible in public events. In posts published in recent days and months, Abu Seif can be seen participating in various events as the organization's CEO and working together with the Palestinian Authority. One of them is a cooperation agreement with the Samua Municipality in the Hebron Hills with the organization.
Another central activist is the UAWC project coordinator, Muayad Basharat, who lives in the Tubas area and is active in the northern Jordan Valley. Another activist who can be easily found in the organization's activities is Samah Abu Naim from the village of Batir. A UAWC activist who regularly works at events and in the Shiloh Valley and is not ashamed to wear shirts and hats with the logo of the declared terrorist organization is Kazem Al-Hajj Muhammad. He advertises himself with the organization's symbols and even regularly participates in demonstrations in support of terrorists in Ramallah.
And this is only a partial list of activists.
Senior terrorists linked to the organization have been implicated in past terror attacks, including Samer Arbid, accused in the killing of Rina Shnerb, fueling criticism that Israel's Central Command and security agencies have failed to enforce the ban on an entity Israel designates as a terrorist organization."
