The leader of settlers responsible of the 19 October pogrom in Turmus Ayya

Original Social Media Post

"This is the settler—allegedly a leader in the area—who blocked our path, holding a gun, right when we set out on Sunday. Then later, when the IDF promised us passage before jetting off, he was there on his ATV right next to them, waiting. Then the hordes came." - Source

Archivist Notes On This Video

Testimony of Jasper Nathaniel: "7:37 a.m. — The caravan is stopped by a settler standing in the road with a gun, holding it in plain sight and staring us down while speaking on his phone. Several others appear behind him. Later, I learned his name: Amishav Malt, leader of the Or Nachman outpost in Turmus’ayya’s olive fields (seen in the video above)—an infamously violent settler whose gun was once confiscated by the IDF after he shot a Palestinian, according to an Israeli police officer I spoke to. Remember his name."

Event Notes

Bloody pogrom in Turmus Ayya during olive harvest

On October 19, 2025, Israeli settlers and soldiers carried out a massive attacks against Palestinian farmers and activist in Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah.

They attacked olive pickers in Wadi Ammar area, forcing them to leave their lands.

Earlier, the army had set up a "flying" military checkpoint at the main entrance of Turmus Ayya, detaining and searching several vehicles.

Israeli soldiers accompanied by a number of settlers, attacked the citizens and fired at them while they were picking olives in the "Wadi Ammar" area, preventing them from continuing to pick the olives and forcing them to leave their lands by force.

The settlers also set fire to two vehicles belonging to citizens Shaher Abu Aliya and Muhammad Abu Aliya.

Two citizens and a foreign activist were injured :

  1. An elderly Palestinian woman harvesting her land was assaulted by a settler, who struck her on the back of the head with a stick. She lost consciousness and was transported by car to the hospital.

  2. Settlers injuried also a young man, and a foreign activist with varying bruises and wounds.

  3. Assault on the US activist and independant journalist, Jasper Nathaniel,(@infinite_jaz) who was reporting on the ground, by dozen of masked and armed settlers. "If I am killed in the West Bank, please know that I blame you personally @GovMikeHuckabee. I was set up by the IDF to be attacked by 100 armed settlers. When I sent the embassy the video and asked for protection for me and everyone else in Turmus’ayya, they literally said no."

Blocked in the plain between two hills — one occupied by armed settlers, the other by soldiers — Jasper Nathaniel tries to negotiate his escape with the soldiers. They seem to let them go, but... "8:42 AM: I walk back to the car, and we drive up. I mistakenly think the soldiers said they would make the settlers leave. Instead, as soon as we arrive, the soldiers speed away—leaving us facing two settlers on an ATV, one of them armed. A few other farmers are there too, beside a car with a smashed windshield."

Aftermath:

On November 9, Israeli channel Kan publish under the titel "Suspected of a terrorist act" that Ariel Dahari, a resident of a hill near Ofra in his twenties, was arrested on suspicion of attacking a Palestinian woman (Um Saleh) near the village of Turmus Ayya. According to Jasper Nathaniel, a quick Google search shows he’s been investigated for violence before.
