"❗️The spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defense, Mahmoud Basal, said that Israeli occupation forces directly targeted their crews with a drone while they were on a humanitarian rescue mission at Al-Falah School in the Al-Zaytoun area, where displaced families had been sheltering. Seven civil defense personnel were injured, and rescue worker Monther Raed Al-Dahshan was killed. Basal asks: “Why is the person wearing this orange vest killed? Why are our crews killed, those who only serve people and provide humanitarian service?” More than 30 members of Gaza’s Civil Defense have been killed by the Israeli terrorist army asince the genocide began, despite international law guaranteeing them protection. Falah school doule tapAround 2 am, an Israeli airstrike targeted Al-Falah school in the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.
During rescue efforts, Israel struck the school again, killing at least one member of the Civil Defense crews and wounding 7 others.
The memebr of Civil Defense who was killed, Monther Al-Dahshan, was a key source of documentation of rescue efforts in Gaza City throughout the genocide.
