The current Arabic-language spokesperson of the Israel Defense Forces is Cpt. Ella Waweya, appointed in 2026 as the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesperson to replace Avichay Adraee, who had held the role for about 20 years. Waweya is an Arab Muslim Israeli officer and had already been working in the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit since 2013. She communicates with Arabic-speaking audiences in the Middle East through videos and messages on social media and official channels, she is already responsible of the last displacement order and forced evacuation communication for 700,000 lebaneses in February-March 2026.

Shirly Shamsian is a Persian‑speaking reservist who has been featured as a Farsi‑language voice for Israeli military messaging as part of the IDF’s hasbara efforts to communicate with Iranian and Persian‑speaking audiences online.
