"💡When Gaza ran out of medicine, Dr. Khaled Awda turned the small kitchen inside his tent home into a makeshift pharmaceutical lab. Speaking from inside the tent where his family now lives after displacement, the Palestinian doctor explains how his household of seven began producing basic treatments after pharmacies emptied and medical supplies stopped entering Gaza. His wife, also a doctor, helps measure, mix, and prepare remedies using simple kitchen tools in an attempt to compensate for the disappearance of antibiotics, painkillers, children’s medicine, and vitamins.
