The raids come amid near-daily attacks in recent weeks and rising fears of retaliation after a settler was killed in a separate incident under investigation. These followed calls circulated on open networks to carry out revenge for the death of the young Israeli who was killed yesterday afternoon after being struck by a Palestinian vehicle in Beit Omerim. While, at this stage, the security establishment has not yet defined the incident in which he was killed as a terrorist attack. In fact, initially the system assessed that it was likely a traffic accident, and only after ministers from the Religious Zionism party claimed he had been murdered did the police and the army issue statements saying that a suspicion of a terror attack was being examined. In the background — the incident occurred in Area A, and according to some reports took place during a “land survey.”. According to a security source, the Palestinian driver was also injured in the collision and evacuated for medical treatment; therefore, the claim that the vehicle was stolen currently appears unlikely.
According to יריב אופנהיימר (Yariv Oppenheimer) Israeli public figure, activist, commentator, and media personality known for his involvement in peace and human rights advocacy, there are two version of this accident, both versions indicate the deaths were accidental and not caused by a Palestinian attack.
Version 1: Road accident
Settlers were driving an ATV at high speed in Area A. The ATV took a sharp turn and collided with a Palestinian vehicle, which then rolled into a wadi. One of the settlers on the ATV died. The damaged ATV has not been documented, raising some doubts about this account. This version suggests an unintentional accident, not a planned attack.
Version 2: Theft and escape
Settlers allegedly stole a Palestinian pickup truck. While fleeing in the stolen vehicle, they lost control and the truck fell into a wadi. This also does not indicate a terrorist attack, but an accident resulting from an illegal act (vehicle theft) that went wrong.
"Today at 9:00 PM we will go out to the junctions! Jewish blood is not cheap!" This is a post from March 21, 2026, evening on Hilltop News, the West Bank's Hilltop Youth WhatsApp group. Later that night at least 15 Palestinian villages were attacked by settler terrorists. It's all organized and carried out completely out in the open
The “King David Brigades” claimed responsibility and announced that they maneuvered between the villages and set fire to dozens of vehicles and homes. Along with a well-produced video, in a group that has been openly and extremely inciting for many months. According to Matan Golan, journalists in Haaretz covering these progroms, "boasting and incitement to violence against Palestinians are not considered offenses by the Israeli security establishment, particularly the police and the Shin Bet."
Text published on Telegram:
"Ansh News A campaign of revenge across Judea and Samaria Documentation of King David's battalions at night maneuvering between the villages In Jaloud, Fandocumia, Sebastia, Silat Al-Hazar and Kiryat, dozens of vehicles and houses were set on fire, and on Silat Al-Hazar the following inscriptions were sprayed: "Regards to stand out" "Benjamin" "Star of David" The equation is simple: Jews are not silent about Jewish blood being shed!! Ansh News"
In the morning of March 22, no arrests have been reported, consistent with a pattern of impunity in settler violence cases.
According to the Israeli journalist Matan Golan on X, reports that the army did not reach the sites of settler attacks are inaccurate, and the reality appears more troubling.
In the village of Jalud, a first attack around 23:30 was relatively quickly repelled, with security forces reportedly arriving at the scene. However, between 02:00 and 03:00, a second, more severe wave of attacks took place, involving dozens of participants.
Jalud, located near the Shiloh settlement bloc, is often a vulnerable point, serving as a “springboard” between areas and frequently targeted. The occurrence of a second large-scale attack there, ending with zero arrests, raises serious concerns about either the operational capability of the group calling itself the “King David Brigades” or the conduct of the security forces.
Golan questions how, after such a prolonged night and a return to the same village, no arrests were made—particularly how around 100 masked individuals could carry out attacks and then return to nearby settlements under IDF security without being identified.
The details for each video come from social media. None of it has been verified.
