"Jalal is gone.. and the screams that no one heard have finally fallen silent. After repeated pleas to save his life and secure medical treatment outside the besieged Gaza Strip, the infant Jalal Al-Qatash has passed away—a victim of his illness and international neglect." - Source
Addition details from a local paediatrician who witnessed Jalal's case:
"I remember him well. On his first visit to the emergency room, he arrived nearly dead at two in the morning, and I recall that he was registered as a girl named Ijlal, had his mum not corrected them, sobbing as she said: "He's a boy named Jalal". There wasn’t a single spot left on his body for a peripheral line. He spent his few months in the world in hospitals. In his final days, his kidney failed; his flayed body was prone to infections, he couldn’t take food through his mouth, and the attempt to save him was desperate, as you’d expect. He was one of tens of thousands with genetic, congenital, hereditary, or chronic illnesses—ones we know will die in the end without a cure."
