Archivist Notes On This Video

According to מחוץ לעדר/ kivsa shchora @masafering

"Today in the village of Markaz: a settler was filmed pushing a woman holding a baby to the ground; he was also documented beating a tied dog. On a daily basis, settlers invade the villages of Markaz and Khirbet al-Halawa located in an area designated by Israeli authorities as “Firing Zone 918,” and subject residents to ongoing harassment and violence. Settlers invade with their flocks and move between residents’ homes, causing property damage and harassing and assaulting residents. These actions are aimed at forcing residents out of their homes and taking over their land."

Event Notes

Settler attacks on Khirbet Al-Markaz

Khirbet al-Markaz (Al-Mirkaz) is a Palestinian shepherding community in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron. Located within Israel's declared Firing Zone 918, it has faced repeated demolition threats, movement restrictions, and the risk of mass displacement alongside other Masafer Yatta villages.

In 2022, Israel's Supreme Court upheld eviction orders affecting several Masafer Yatta communities, including Al-Markaz, putting more than a thousand Palestinians at risk of displacement.

Access roads to Al-Markaz have periodically been blocked by Israeli forces using dirt mounds and gates, restricting movement.
