"‼️A man stretches out his hand to three small Palestinian children stranded on the opposite bank of an open river of raw sewage, guiding them one by one across a makeshift crossing built from broken concrete, twisted rebar, and debris that runs over the wastewater between their displacement tents. Scenes like this have become a daily reality across Gaza's displacement camps, where the Israeli occupation army's systematic destruction of water and sanitation infrastructure has damaged or completely destroyed more than 1,675 kilometres of the strip's 4,800-kilometre water and sewage network, forcing over 130,000 cubic metres of untreated sewage to flow daily through streets, camps, and into the Mediterranean Sea. With no functioning waste collection, mounting piles of garbage, and the Israeli occupation continuing to block the entry of fuel, equipment, and spare parts needed to repair pumping stations, rivers of sewage now run between the tents where displaced families sleep and eat, and where children are forced to cross over rebar and rubble just to bring home whatever scraps of food, water, or supplies they can find. abdalhkem_abu_riash (IG)" - Source
