On June 29, 2026, around 14:30, Israeli forces stormed the Al-Amari camp in the city of Al-Bireh, near Ramallah. They fired live and rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas at citizens, which led to the death of a child.

The child, Amir Ahmed Jawad Jaber, was killed as a result of his critical injury by Israeli forces’ bullets during their storming of the Umm Al-Sharayet neighborhood. The soldiers fired two bullets at him, directly hitting him in the head and chest, wounding him with very critical injuries. The child was resuscitated and transferred to the hospital. as a result of which he was declared dead.

The Jerusalem Governorate stated that Jaber, a Jerusalem ID holder, was the 11th Palestinian from the governorate killed by Israeli forces since the start of 2026. It accused Israel of carrying out systematic and extra-judicial killings, particularly targeting children, and warned that international inaction encourages further violations. The statement linked the incident to a recent UN Commission of Inquiry report alleging deliberate targeting of Palestinian children by Israeli forces and settlers since October 7, 2023, describing such acts as potential war crimes and crimes against humanity. It called on the international community to intervene, end impunity, and provide protection for Palestinian children.
