Brutal eviction and home demolition in al-Deirat (Masafer Yatta)

On May 4, 2026, Israeli military forces entered Al-Deirat with bulldozers and demolished a large, two-story, 300-square-meter family home belonging to Radi al-Jabarin and his son Munir, displacing approximately 15 people and tearing down surrounding fruit trees. T

In June/July: Following the initial demolitions, families attempted to stay on their land by erecting temporary structures. Local activists and WAFA reported that the military returned to Al-Deirat to dismantle these emergency structures. They targeted and demolished a residential tent that had been put up to shelter the remaining five-member family of Radi al-Jabareen. During these targeted sweeps in Al-Deirat, Israeli forces also demolished a 200-square-meter home belonging to Mousa Ismail al-Adra (leaving a family of nine homeless) and filled in a 200-cubic-meter community water well.

Israeli forces demolished a 200-square-meter home belonging to Mousa Ismail al-Adra in the al-Deirat area east of Yatta. The house was home to a family of nine. They also filled in a water well with a capacity of 200 cubic meters.

Israeli forces also demolished a tent erected on the site of a home they had demolished a month earlier. The tent was sheltering the five-member family of Radi al-Jabareen.

Meantime, military bulldozers began demolishing a second 200-square-meter home belonging to Mohammad Tayseer al-Adra, which housed a family of five.
