On July 19, 2026, in the evening, Israeli settlers stormed the Palestinian town of Deir Jarir, northeast of Ramallah, stealing sheep and attacking the community under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, while the whole world was busy watching the world cup final.

As residents rushed to defend their town, Israeli soldiers fired live ammunition and tear gas at Palestinians instead of stopping the settlers, turning the assault into a deadly military-backed attack. Two Palestinian men were shot and killed by Israeli occupation forces while confronting the settler attack.

Several other Palestinians were also injured as Israeli occupation forces intensified their attacks with live fire and tear gas, providing cover for the settlers’ rampage.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its crews treated a critically injured man who sustained a severe abdominal wound in the town. The injured man was being transported to the hospital by a Silwad ambulance crew for treatment while the Israeli forces opened fire at the ambulance transporting him.

"Forces rushed to the area of the village of Deir Jarir following a report that Israeli citizens had entered the village to retrieve animals belonging to them. The forces entered the village to prevent friction and to extract the Israeli citizens. Afterward, the forces secured individual Israeli citizens searching for the animals based on identifying marks indicating they belonged to them. A violent riot developed in the area, during which terrorists began throwing stones and blocks at the forces. As a result, two members of the security forces were injured and received medical treatment at the scene. The forces responded with gunfire to remove the threat, and hits were identified."
