"Unpublished photos show the Israeli army using white phosphorus in the town of Al Khiam on March 22, 2026. This is evidence of one of thousands of acts of ecocide committed in Lebanon by the IDF. White phosphorus munitions are identifiable by the distinctive clouds they produce, usually resembling tentacles as they descend to the ground. Exposure can cause severe injuries, burning deeply through skin and tissue and, in extreme cases, reaching bone. When exposed to oxygen, white phosphorus produces a toxic, highly irritating smoke. It also wreaks havoc on the environment; white phosphorus is highly reactive and toxic. It can damage ecosystems by scorching vegetation, contaminating soil and water, and leaving hazardous residue that harms wildlife." - Source
