Israeli raid on Birzeit university on the first day of Academic yearOn October 5, 2026, around 03:45, the Israeli forces stormed the town of Birzeit, raided and searched a number of Birzeit University buildings and the Student Council headquarters, detained university security employees, and demolished the Martyrs' Monument on the university campus, the publc edifice of the university's student martyrs, with heavy machine.
At dawn, the Israeli forces stormed also the cities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, arresting two citizens (one a female citizen and the other a university student).
