### Chronology: Avigayil Outpost (West Bank) **September 26, 2001 (Yom Kippur Eve):** Avigayil was established by recently demobilized Israeli soldiers on 1,000 dunams (250 acres) of strategic hilltop land. On January 11, Israeli settler escorted by soldiers attacked the village of Yatma, Nablus, attempting to set Palestinian homes on fire and hurling stones at houses and residents. A horde of armed settlers attacked Palestinian homes in Yatma town under military protection before local residents tried to fend them off. According to Ahmad Snobar, head of the Yatma village council, colonists attacked the Hawouz area to the north of the village, provoking confrontations with local residents who confronted the assailants.
