Watch Elyashiv Nahum of Havat Yehuda in the South Hebron Hills explaining the success of his herding farm. Displacing Palestinians and preventing them from cultivating their land.

He reflects: “look how incredible. They only ploughed the area that you can't see from the farm. They didn't touch the area you see from the farm.”

“They came here either during Shabbat or in the afternoon… they did some kind of plowing here and ran away. It's all good, we don’t get worked up. Even if they plow next year, our sheep will come and eat what grows here.”

This is what he says about the ultimate goal: “Sometime they will realize that they have nothing to come here for anymore and... And they will leave here.”

“Seven years ago, when we came here, Arabs would roam here, building roads, planting… and no one bothered them. Slowly we took hold of the land, created space, and let's call it the manifestation of sovereignty, physically, the entire territory.”

“The shepherding of one person who goes out and walks around in a vast space and basically says, "I live here, this is my home forever and always,” it's a tie-breaking tool. You show everyone that this place is yours”

“From a real estate perspective, it seems delusional. Because if you didn't build a house, then you have nothing. But sheep that roam the area with a shepherd, that area belongs to the shepherd.”

“On our farm you won’t find us shepherding on Shabbat. but we don't turn a blind eye. When we hear that something is happening on the land, we will respond on Shabbat as well”
