On May 13, around 8h30, dozens of settlers backed by Israeli military troops and vehicles raided three villages (Sinjil and Abwein, and Jaljulia) in the Ramallah–Al-Bireh area in order to steal their herds of sheep. They attacked families in their homes, stole agricultural equipment, water trackers, and hundreds of heads of livestock. Israeli forces were present at the scene alongside the settler attackers. In one recording, a masked man is seen threatening a resident with a pistol who was trying to document the theft.
Four locals who resisted the raid and the looting were injured by the settler assault or by rubber-coated bullets and evacuated to hospital. Youssef Ali Ka’abneh, 16 years old, was shot and killed by gunfire near the town of Jaljulia.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the victim as Yusuf Kaabneh, adding that four others were injured by rubber-coated bullets and during an assault carried out by settlers, protected by the Israeli army.
Settlers reportedly stole approximately 700 sheep during their attack.
