Deadly raid in Awarta and Einabus

West Bank, Nablus, Einabus, Awarta 30 Dec, 2025 - 31 Dec, 2025
At least 1 martyred
On December 30, 2025, Israeli forces raided Awarta and Einabus, south of Nablus. They opened fire on a vehicle traveling between the towns of Einabus and Awarta, south of Nablus. Video documentation showed the vehicle catching fire and overturning after its occupants were struck by bullets. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society initially reported three serious injuries and later confirmed that two of the wounded were transferred to Rafidia Hospital, each suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medical teams were initially prevented from reaching a fourth injured person, whose condition was critical. The incident ultimately resulted in one Palestinian killed and four others injured. The Israeli army claimed that the Palestinian who was killed, Qais Sami Jasser Allan (20), attempted to run over soldiers in the Einabus area, emphasizing that no Israeli soldiers were injured. The Palestinian General Authority of Civil Affairs confirmed that its teams in Nablus Governorate are coordinating the receipt of Allan’s body. In a related incident on Tuesday evening, another Palestinian was injured in Urif after Israeli forces fired a stun grenade during a raid that included a patrol through the village streets. Occupation forces also stormed Iraq Burin, conducting street patrols and provocative tours between citizens’ homes. The killing of Allan and the injuries to civilians come amid escalating Israeli attacks in Nablus, particularly in southern villages, including live-fire raids targeting civilians and their vehicles. Wafa news agency reported that Israeli soldiers shot and killed Allan while he was inside his vehicle on the road connecting Einabus and Awarta, leaving four others wounded. In a separate case, 17-year-old Mujahed Silwadi was injured during his arrest by Israeli forces. He sustained internal bleeding in the liver and spleen due to violent assault. Despite his critical condition, he was beaten again and left at the Awarta checkpoint. **Name of the martyr:** Qais Sami Jasser Allan (20)

Ben Gvir “Operation New Order” against Turabin al-Sana‘ village in occupied Al-Naqab

48 Palestine, Negev / Al-Naqab, Israel, Turabin al-Sani‘ 27 Dec, 2025 - 05 Jan, 2026
At least 1 martyred
On December 27, 2025, youths set fire to settlers' cars in the Givat Bar settlement in the Negev, southern Israel (surveillance camera footage). After this arson incident, four residents of Tarabin al-Sana were allegedly set fire to vehicles in nearby Jewish communities. Police arrested three suspects within a day of the attacks. Investigators described the arson as an act of retaliation linked to earlier police activity in the town. Hundreds of police officers and Border Police fighters carried out a sweeping raid in the southern Bedouin town of Tarabin al-Sana, with reports of live gunfire used during the operation. Authorities said the action was part of an intensified law enforcement effort in the area. Police stated that forces are working to fully encircle the town. Shortly before the raid, dozens of Border Police vans were seen gathered near a gas station outside Tarabin al-Sana, indicating preparations for a coordinated incursion. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir visited Tarabin al-Sana. During the visit, he pledged a tougher response to crime and unrest in the locality, signaling increased enforcement measures. At the same time, army bases in the surrounding region raised their defense readiness for what were described as operational reasons, according to reports. The military did not issue further details regarding the change in posture. Police have not specified the precise tactical goals of the raid. Officials said the operation is intended to reinforce governance, uphold the rule of law, and deliver a clear response to serious criminal activity. The situation in Tarabin al-Sana remains tense as security forces continue operations across the town. ### Timeline: **26 December 2025** Clashes in the village began on Friday, when Israeli police patrol cars entered the village in search of a stolen horse, quickly flooding the streets with clouds of pepper spray and tear gas. **27 December 2025** On Saturday, masked assailants broke into two communities in southern Israel and set on fire and vandalized vehicles. Israeli police attributed the arson attacks to residents of Tarabin al-Sana’, describing them as retaliatory acts for the police’s activity on Friday. Dozens of police officers raided Tarabin al-Sana in response and arrested six suspects. **28 December 2025** Israeli police announced the arrest of three to four suspects linked to the car arson. According to police statements, the arson cases were already under investigation at this stage. On Sunday, police fired tear gas into a local mosque during evening prayers and fired rubber-coated bullets. **29 December 2025** On Monday, large-scale police raids began in Tarabin al-Sana’: Hundreds of police officers and Border Police units were deployed firing flares, breaking windows in homes, and throwing stun grenades inside. Night raids, house searches, roadblocks, and crowd-control measures were reported. The operation was officially framed under “Operation New Order” (Seder Hadash). Police said the operation in the village of Tarabin al-Sana was part of “comprehensive activity to strengthen governance,” and was carried out in response to “acts of revenge by criminals over the weekend.” Police arrested 16 people, and 19 were barred from southern Israel. Police also said officers found military weapons and combat equipment during the raid. According to police, residents disrupted police activity, who used protest dispersal means against them. Yasser, a village resident, told Haaretz the raid felt like war. “They enter homes and arrest youths,” he said, “they arrested my brother, who’s 28, and I don’t know why. There’s a police helicopter here, horses, a water cannon. It feels like Tulkarm,” he said, referring to the West Bank city where Israeli forces have conducted a counter-terrorism operation. “I don’t know what they want.” Police also searched “criminal compounds” and fenced off the entire village with concrete blocks to ensure the security of “normal” residents of the south. **31 December 2025** National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir visited Tarabin al-Sana’ during the ongoing raids. He publicly stated the goal was to “restore governance and deterrence.” The visit took place after arrests had already been made and while operations were ongoing. **1–3 January 2026** Police operations continued repeated incursions into the village, encirclement measures and additional searches. **Night of 3–4 January 2026** Muhammad Hussein Tarabin, a Palestinian resident of the village, was shot and killed by Israeli police during a raid. Police claim the shooting occurred because he posed a threat to officers. Family members and local residents dispute this account, stating he was shot without posing an immediate danger. Calls were made for an independent investigation. **Lawmaker and United Arab List chair Mansour AbbaS statement:** Speaking at a press conference at the Knesset: “unlike [National Security] Minister [Itamar] Ben-Gvir, who interferes with the police’s work, we think the police should act in accordance with the law, and in a professional manner.” (...) police “must respect the rights of citizens and provide them with security, while acting in the most appropriate way to eradicate crime and violence.”. “We must not treat Arab citizens as enemies or Arab communities as if they are beyond the country’s borders,” he said, adding that the government has failed to address the root problems in Arab society, particularly in the Negev. “The results are clear – there is no governance, no sovereignty and no law and order, because Minister Ben-Gvir is interfering with and harming the work of the police and other areas the government is supposed to handle.” **Name of the martyr:** Muhammad Hussein Al-Tarabin, 35 killed 2026-01-04 He was shot dead by Israeli police officers, during their storming of the village of Tarabin al-Sanea in the Negev region to carry out arrests of what they described as "suspects of the (price tag) events in recent days" **IDF and Ben Gvir statements:** The Israeli police claimed in a statement that the martyr "exposed the workforce to danger during its activity, so they shot him", while its officers stormed the village to carry out arrests of what they described as "suspects of the (price tag) events in recent days". In the aftermath, Ben Gvir was quick to declare in an interview his "full support" for the police, saying "everyone who puts the police and our fighters in danger must be neutralized, and it is good that what happened is so.. The days when police officers were harmed and in danger ended without a response."

Child Atta Mamoun Atta Mai drowned in a well

Gaza, Gaza City, Al-Rashid Street 27 December, 2025
At least 1 martyred
On December 27, the body of a child, Atta Mamoun Atta Mai, from Beit Lahia in northern Gaza, was recovered by civil defense crews after he fell into a deep water well near the Al-Sudaniya junction along Al-Rashid Street, northwest of Gaza City. The child was found dead after more than six hours of continuous search operations, as rescue teams worked under severe weather conditions and limited resources, attempting to reach the well and retrieve him. Despite repeated efforts by civil defense crews, Atta did not survive. **Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal statement:** Ata fell into a water-filled pit while playing, mistaking it for a safe area. Rescue teams worked six hours to recover his body. Ata was living with relatives after his mother was killed, and his father is receiving medical treatment in Egypt. Basal warned that many wells in Gaza, especially on city outskirts, pose similar dangers. He noted that limited resources and the Israeli blockade on relief and shelter materials make prevention difficult. The Civil Defense renewed calls for international support to provide aid, shelter, and equipment to prevent further tragedies. **Name of the matyr:** Atta Mamoun Atta Mai, 7 y/o

Settler assault on the village of Deir Jarir

West Bank, Ramallah, Deir Jarir 25 December, 2025
On December 25, several incidents were carried out by violent settlers in Deir Jarir, north of the city of Ramallah. An Israeli settler has rammed an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) into a Palestinian man, while he was kneeling in prayer on the side of a road. Footage circulated by Palestinian media outlets on Thursday showed the settler, carrying a rifle, driving directly into the praying man. The Palestinian was knocked to the ground and left lying injured as the settler dismounted, shouted at him, and ordered him to leave the area before driving away. Settler identified as Israeli military reservist. At least five settlers threw stones and fired a gun inside Deir Jarir earlier in the day, wounding a young Palestinian man. Reports of additional injuries were still being examined. **IDF statement:** The IDF confirmed Thursday that the Israeli seen in the footage was a reserve soldier, and said that his weapon was confiscated and his service suspended following the incident. An initial military probe also found that the same reservist had earlier opened fire inside the village, while dressed in civilian clothes. The incidents were under investigation and will be transferred to the relevant authorities in accordance with the findings. The military stated that it strongly condemns “all manifestations of violence” and stressed that its soldiers and commanders are required to act in accordance with the IDF code of ethics. On Friday, police said he had been arrested on Thursday night and placed under house arrest for five days. **Aftermath:** Majdi Abu Mokho, the father of the injured Palestinian by ATV, said his son suffered pain in both legs after being struck. He identified the assailant as a settler, who had set up an outpost near the village and regularly provoked residents by blocking roads and grazing livestock nearby. **Broader context:** Deir Jarir is a Palestinian town in the central West Bank, located in the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate. It lies northeast of Ramallah, roughly 13–15 km from the city center. The town is mostly agricultural, with surrounding hills and farmland. It is part of the area under Palestinian Authority administration (Area B and C mix).

Military raid on Qalanqiya and Kafr Aqab

West Bank, East Jerusalem/Al-Quds 23 Dec, 2025 - 24 Dec, 2025
On December 23, 2025, Israeli forces carried out a large-scale raid on the Qalandiya refugee camp and the town of Kafr Aqab. The operation involved troops storming shops and residential areas, using stun grenades and tear gas, which resulted in multiple injuries. Soldiers also converted several homes into temporary military outposts, forcing families to evacuate. During this large-scale incursion in Qalandiya and Kafr Aqab, at least 24 Palestinians were injured, some by live ammunition and others by tear gas. Several Palestinians were also detained, including Anan Mohammed Taha and his father, Mohammed Taha, both residents of the Qalandiya refugee camp. The raid was accompanied by the deployment of military vehicles and bulldozers. Israeli forces raided Palestinian stores and shops, destroying some signs and advertising billboards in what residents described as an attempt to further cripple the Palestinian economy. In addition to the demolitions, Israeli forces confiscated goods from commercial shops in the Qalandiya refugee camp, Kafr Aqab, and parts of northern Jerusalem, citing alleged unpaid municipal taxes. Municipal taxes (called arnona in Hebrew) are local city taxes levied on property and businesses in Jerusalem. All residents and business owners are supposed to pay them if they fall under Jerusalem’s municipal jurisdiction Most Palestinians living in these areas hold Jerusalem residency identification cards. Residents say they are subject to high municipal taxes while receiving very limited basic services in return. Indeed, holding these IDs doesn’t make them citizens, and the areas they live in — like Kafr Aqab and Qalandiya — are often disconnected from the rest of the city by the separation wall and checkpoints **Qalandiya / Qalandia Refugee Camp:** Israeli forces undertook a military operation involving incursions, demolition of shops, and clashes with residents. Israeli forces also stormed the youth club inside the Qalandiya refugee camp and turned the facility into a military base. The soldiers also closed the Qalandiya military checkpoint. **Kafr Aqab:** Troops extended the operation into the town, conducting searches, pushing out families, and deploying heavily in residential zones. Israeli forces ordered several families to evacuate their homes, with at least three houses converted into temporary military outposts. Homeowners were reportedly told the operation would continue until at least Wednesday morning. Journalists covering the operation were also targeted, including Al Jazeera Arabic reporters, with Israeli forces firing stun grenades and tear gas canisters in their direction. According to the Jerusalem governorate authorities, stun grenades were also fired directly towards students in the area as they were returning home from school. **Casulaties:** Medical sources reported Palestinians were wounded by live fire, rubber bullets, and tear gas during these raids. At least three Palestinians were injured by Israeli forces’ gunfire, in addition to dozens of cases of suffocation caused by the firing of tear gas and stun grenades. **Broader context:** Kafr Aqab was once part of Jerusalem, and its Palestinian residents hold Israeli residency status. However, in the early 2000s, Israel decided to exclude the area from the city by rerouting the Separation Wall so that Kafr Aqab fell outside Jerusalem’s municipal boundaries. This redrawing of the boundary significantly intensified the ghettoization of Kafr Aqab, leaving the neighborhood physically and administratively cut off from the city.

Settlement activity in the Tarousa area near Dura

West Bank, Dura, Al-Khalil/Hebron, Jabal Tarousa 21 December, 2025
Israel’s Security Cabinet on **December 21, 2025** approved the establishment and legalization of 19 Jewish communities across Judea and Samaria, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich noted on X. Including a new colony in the Dura area, named “Nahal Doron,”. Bezalel Smotrich added that this policy thwarts the establishment of a “Palestinian terror state,” as Israelis continue “to develop, build and settle in the land of our forefathers out of faith in our righteousness.” The government’s 11-member ministerial committee approved the establishment and recognition of Allenby (an interim name), Esh Kodesh, Ganim, Givat Harel, Har Bezek, Kadim, Kida, Kochav Hashachar-North, Mishol, Nahal Doron, Nof Gilad, P’nei Kedem, Reihanit, Rosh Ha’ayin-East, Shalem, Tammun, Ya’ar El Keren, Yatziv and Yitav-West. **On December 21, 2025,** illegal paramilitary Israeli settlers, accompanied by Israeli far‑right “Minister of Settlements” Orit Strock, invaded the Tarousa Jabal. The group erected a menorah and performed religious rituals under full military deployment, after soldiers surrounded the area and prevented Palestinians from entering. Israeli occupation forces forced shop owners in Deir Samet to close their businesses, while soldiers deployed heavily along the road leading to the area. Troops also closed the main road connecting Dura with the western villages for more than two hours, preventing Palestinians from using the route and severely disrupting movement. **On Januray and february 2026**, the Israeli patrols regularly stormed the Tarousa area. **On June 15, 2026**, armed settlers, protected by Israeli forces, entered the area, erected a tent, and placed a sign announcing a new settlement called “Doron.” Palestinians from the area protested the new outpost and were violently suppressed by the Israeli army, who protected the settlers. **On June 16, 2026, around 10:40,** a group of settlers set up in the Tarusa area of the town of Deir Samet, in an attempt to establish a settlement outpost. Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, alongside ministers and colonist leaders, visited the site for a foundation stone ceremony for the planned settlement, which is intended to be built on Palestinian land. “Doron” is among 19 new settlements approved by the Israeli government in the West Bank last year as part of broader settlement expansion plans. During his visit, Smotrich also announced additional measures aimed at facilitating land seizure and settlement control in the Hebron Governorate. He declared the cancellation of the Hebron Agreement signed with the Palestinian Authority in 1994, which means withdrawing the Hebron Municipality's authority from several areas of the city. The Masalmeh family has stated that the mountain, which covers 2,200 dunams, belongs to them and that they obtained a court order from Israeli courts prohibiting settlers from the site since 2007. **On June 17, 2026**, Israeli forces began excavation and bulldozing works on Palestinian-owned lands in the Mount Tarousa area, west of Dura in the Hebron Governorate, in preparation for establishing a new settlement. Israeli forces, accompanied by settlers, carried out the land works, while trucks had already transported caravans, water tanks, and other equipment to the site.

On December 20, 2025, in Qabatiya, Jenin, West Bank, Muhammad Abu Mualla, 16, succumbed to his wounds after being shot by an Israeli soldier during a raid on the town. CCTV footage shows him unarmed, walking home in Qabatiya, when Israeli soldiers, posted in ambush at the corner of a street, fired at him at close range. He was shot directly, and paramedics were blocked from providing assistance. Rayan was among a group of Palestinian boys and youths gathered in an alleyway east of the main road in the Al-Saba’na neighborhood, as military vehicles repeatedly drove back and forth along the neighborhood’s main road. Rayan and the others were not involved in any confrontation, but were unable to return home due to the presence of the military vehicle. According to witnesses, the soldiers became aware of the youths trapped inside the alley. The military vehicle continued moving in the road before stopping at the end of it, about 200 meters from the alley’s entrance off the main road. Three soldiers then exited from the military vehicles. The soldiers deliberately turned off the engine of the military vehicle, attempting to avoid alerting the youths that the forces withdrew from the area. Two soldiers then positioned themselves next to a wall located on the main street, which intersects with the entrance to the alley. According to a circulated CCTV, Rayan exited the alley and began walking along the side road toward the main street. When he was about two meters (7 feet) from the main street, soldiers came out from behind a wall and fired at him at close range, striking him and causing him to fall to the ground. Rayan left bleeding for 20 to 30 minutes while he was surrounded by the soldiers, who prevented the ambulance from approaching. The soldiers then placed Rayan inside a military vehicle, then left the area. The Ministry of Health announced the death of Rayan Abu Mualla at 8 p.m. and that his body was being held by the Israeli army. Israeli forces entered Qabatiya around 6:30 p.m. with two heavily armored military vehicles and deployed in several neighborhoods, deliberately blaring their sirens and making noise disturbances. No clashes broke out in the town during the incursion. The forces withdrew from the town at around 7:30 p.m. Due to the confiscation of Rayan’s body, DCIP is not able to verify the location or number of bullet wounds that he sustained". **Obituary of a Martyred Student by Directorate of Education - Qabatiya:** "And do not think of those who were killed in the way of Allah as dead. In this great loss, the Qabatya Directorate of Education extends its deepest condolences to his parents, family, classmates, teachers, and the people of Qabatya in general, praying to Allah Almighty to grant the deceased His vast mercy, and to inspire his family with patience and solace. Truly, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return."* **Defense for Children - Palestine statement:** *"Israeli forces and settlers have killed 56 Palestinian children in the occupied West Bank in 2025, according to documentation collected by DCIP. Israeli forces have withheld the bodies of at least 63 Palestinian children since June 2016, according to documentation collected by DCIP. Six of the children’s bodies have since been released to their families, while 57 Palestinian children’s bodies remain withheld by Israeli authorities. Israel’s practice of withholding Palestinian bodies is a form of collective punishment, a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, and deprives Palestinian families of the ability to lay their children to rest. In September 2019, the Israeli Supreme Court approved the practice of confiscating human remains after several legal challenges to the policy. On November 27, 2019, Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Bennett ordered all bodies of Palestinians alleged to have attacked Israeli citizens or soldiers to be withheld and not returned to their families. Decades of systemic impunity has created a situation where Israeli forces shoot to kill without limit. As Palestinian children are increasingly targets in the West Bank, Israeli forces’ rules of engagement seemingly allow direct targeting of Palestinian children where no threat exists to justify the use of intentional lethal force."* **B'tselem's investigation:** *"On Saturday, 20 December 2025, Israeli forces raided the town of Qabatiya in the West Bank. Local youths responded by throwing stones at the armored jeeps. During the raid, and after the stone-throwing had ceased, a soldier shot 16 year old Rayan Abu M’ala. Eyewitnesses heard 3–5 shots fired from close range. The Israeli military claimed that the shooting was a response to Abu M’ala throwing a brick at the forces. However, footage from the scene refutes this claim. After the shooting, soldiers prevented a Palestinian ambulance from evacuating Abu M’ala, leaving him on the ground for about half an hour. He was later taken in a military jeep. His body has been held by Israel ever since. This is not an isolated case, but a direct result of a permissive open-fire policy in the West Bank. Since October 2023, Israel has killed 1,022 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 221 minors. Under Israel’s apartheid regime, Palestinian lives continue to be treated as expendable. Even when killings are carried out in front of cameras, and when it is clear they were committed in violation of the rules and the law, no one is held accountable. The international community has a duty to do everything in its power to stop Israel’s crimes."* **Full name of the martyr:** Rayan Muhammad Abdel Qader Abu Mualla **Geolocation:** By Anno Nemo: Israeli soldiers shoot and kill a Palstinian from a close distance in the Al-Saba'neh neighborhood of Qabatiya, Jenin Governorate, occupied #WestBank 32.407649, 35.278403 Street-level: Mapillary Satellite: Geomolg

Settlers attempt to return to Gaza

Gaza 18 December, 2025
These actions to resettle were not an official government resettlement program, but settler‑linked demonstrations and attempts aimed at promoting the idea of returning Jewish settlers to Gaza following the 2005 withdrawal. Political figures like Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich have called for rebuilding Jewish communities in Gaza, but Prime Minister Netanyahu has ruled out civilian resettlement since May 2024. **In December 18, 2025,** a group of Israeli settlers from the Nahala movement actually crossed into the Gaza Strip, demanding the area be resettled by Israelis after the war. The Israeli military removed them and returned them to Israeli territory. The IDF also added that a second crossing attempt was made at a different point of the security fence between Gaza and Israel. "IDF and Israel Police forces were dispatched to the scene and prevented their crossing into the Gaza Strip," read the statement. **In February 5, 2026,** Hundreds of Israelis, led by the Nachala Settlement Movement, attempted to enter the Gaza Strip during a rally supporting Jewish resettlement of the area. Some crossed into the buffer zone before being detained by the IDF and handed over to police. The protest, attended by around 1,500 activists, aimed to plant trees in the evacuated northern Gaza community of Nisanit. The IDF condemned the action as dangerous and disruptive. **In February 19**, Knesset Member Limor Son Har-Melech, along with a group of settlers, participated in breaching the border fence toward the Gaza Strip. Son Har-Melech crossed the Gaza border with activists from the “Nachala” settlement movement, stating: *“In the streets of Gaza, Jewish boys and girls will play, and in Gaza, prosperous cities will be established and life will flourish. Gaza will be Jewish, because only this will ensure true victory and security for the people of Israel.”*
